The College of Mathematics and Physics was founded in May 2007, formerly known as the Basic Course Department of Changzhou Normal University of Technology. At present, the college consists of Mathematics Department, Statistics Department, University Mathematics Teaching Department, university physics Teaching Department, Mathematics Experiment Center, Physics Experiment Center, etc. The College undertakes the teaching tasks of mathematics and physics, as well as the construction tasks of mathematics and applied Mathematics and statistics. In 2021, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and Statistics were selected as the top undergraduate programs in Jiangsu Province. In 2022, the major of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics passed the second-level certification of the Ministry of Education for Teachers (major category: Middle school Education). 

The College of Mathematics and Physics has a high quality teaching staff. There are 82 teachers, including 16 senior teachers, 25 associate senior teachers, 13 intermediate doctors and 23 intermediate lecturers. Among the teachers, there are 3 trainees of Jiangsu Province 333 High-level Talent Cultivation Project, 4 young and middle-aged academic leaders of Jiangsu Province Qinglan Project, 8 outstanding young backbone teachers of Jiangsu Province Qinglan Project, and 3 Jiangsu Province Doctor of Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In the past five years, the faculty of the College has won many provincial, municipal and university-level teaching and research awards. They have published 182 papers on international and domestic academic journals, 112 of which have been included by SCI. Faculty members of the college have presided over and undertaken 36 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 30 provincial and provincial department projects (including 1 provincial excellent youth), and published 8 textbooks. In 2021, Linear Algebra was selected as the first first-class course in Jiangsu Province. 

Adhering to the school's motto of Good De and music, good things and reason, and adhering to the working idea of moral oriented, learning style based, ability oriented, all-round development, the school gives full play to the advantages of teachers, steadily promotes the project of moral cultivation, growth and talent, and strives to achieve high-quality development of talent training. In recent years, a group of outstanding students, represented by Tang Yue, a member of the National Outstanding Communist Youth League, have emerged, and their students have won many excellent achievements in national high-level competitions such as the National Mathematical Contest in Modeling for College Students and the National Physical Experiment Contest for College Students. With high employment quality, the number of students admitted to primary and secondary school teachers, civil servants, public institutions, postgraduate students and the number of students going abroad for further study has steadily increased, and the development prospects of students are broad.
